Lorraine Dorita is my name and my story began over fifty years ago when I was a child of six years of age.

I began learning the art of embroidery at my grandmother’s knee.

The place of all this burgeoning creativity was the colliery village of Murton in Old Durham, England. The years passed, and the skills of hand-knitting and fine embroidery were the the beginning of, “Creative Textiles”.

The love of Tapestry and hand-stitching came to me in later years.

“The LDN Collection “ of my work can be seen here in the online gallery, which I am showcasing now. In each  and every hand stitched picture, all of the tiny stitches are worked in either silk threads or wool and enhanced with decorative beading.
